Project Overview

Geoffrey’s modern galley kitchen already had sleek, glossy cabinets, but the dark laminate worktops were making the space feel closed in. By updating the worksurfaces to bright White Sparkle quartz, the room now feels lighter, calmer and more in keeping with the garden views. The simple change has refreshed the whole kitchen without the need for a full refit.

What We Changed

Joe’s Doors replaced the existing dark laminate with new White Sparkle quartz overlays, running the full length of both sides of the kitchen and around the sink area. The overlays were fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The subtle sparkle in the surface reflects light from the large window and works neatly with the white subway tiles and gloss cabinetry, giving Geoffrey a brighter, more contemporary finish.

The new worktops lift the whole room, making the long run of units feel brighter and more open from every angle. The light, reflective surface balances the neutral floor and keeps the focus on the garden outside, while still feeling warm and homely.
