Project Overview

Malwina’s modern open-plan kitchen already had a great layout, but the glossy pale green doors no longer suited the look she wanted. By updating the cabinetry fronts only, Joe’s Doors created a smarter, more refined space without changing the existing units or worktops. The new finish brings depth and contrast while keeping the room feeling bright and welcoming.

What We Changed

Working with the existing kitchen carcasses, we removed the original high-gloss doors and drawer fronts and replaced them with made-to-measure Jones doors in Indigo Matt. This included the tall housings, island units and sink run, giving the whole room a consistent, tailored appearance.

The deep Indigo Matt colour adds a contemporary feel and balances well with the pale worktops and herringbone flooring. Simple bar handles complete the cleaner, more streamlined look while retaining all of Malwina’s current storage and appliance positions.

The Result

The kitchen now feels calmer and more sophisticated, with the inky doors framing the hob, ovens and island to create a strong focal point. The matt finish reduces glare from the large patio doors and skylight, while still allowing the light worktops and bright garden views to stand out. It is a clear example of how changing just the doors can significantly update a space while keeping disruption to a minimum.
