Harrogate Kitchen Transformation

Project Overview

Bob’s Harrogate kitchen already had a strong layout, but the traditional cream units and wood worktops no longer suited the contemporary feel he wanted. By updating the cabinet fronts and adding new quartz overlay worktops, Joe’s Doors created a deeper, more atmospheric scheme that still feels bright and welcoming under the skylights. The transformation keeps the original structure while giving the room a smart, modern finish.

What We Changed

The existing cabinet frames were kept in place and updated with new Jones doors in Legno Marine Blue, instantly shifting the look from classic cream to a richer, more contemporary style. The darker doors work with the slate-toned wall tiles and range cooker, adding definition around the room and on the central island.

To brighten the space and add a touch of luxury, we installed White Sparkle quartz overlay worktops across the perimeter runs and island. These were fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The subtle sparkle helps reflect light from the skylights and window, softening the contrast with the deep blue cabinetry.

The Result

The new combination of Legno Marine Blue doors and White Sparkle worktops has given this kitchen a calmer, more refined character without altering the layout. The island now feels like a bright central feature, contrasting cleanly with the darker cabinetry and floor while echoing the pale walls and large clock above the garden-facing window. Overall, Bob has gained a kitchen that feels more up to date and better balanced, achieved with a focused, low-disruption makeover.
