Rutherford Kitchen Transformation

Project Overview
Michael’s Rutherford kitchen had good bones but felt dated, with oak-effect units and dark laminate worktops absorbing much of the light. By upgrading just the visible surfaces, we created a cleaner, more contemporary look that works with the existing layout. The result is a calm, modern space that feels newly fitted without the disruption of a full refit.
What We Changed
We replaced the old oak-style doors with new Horton doors in Marine Blue Superior Matt, bringing a rich, inky tone and simple framed detailing to the cabinetry. To lift and brighten the room, we also installed Pure White quartz overlays, fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The fresh white surface now runs around the sink, laundry appliances and cooking area, providing a clean contrast to the deep blue doors.

The Result
The once-busy mix of oak-effect fronts and dark counters has been replaced with a simple, balanced scheme. The Marine Blue Superior Matt cabinetry now frames the appliances and oven area, while the Pure White worktops help light bounce around the room and emphasise the clean lines. Michael keeps his original units and layout, but the kitchen now looks and feels like a fresh, modern installation.
