Gloucester Kitchen Transformation

Project Overview

Anna’s traditional cream kitchen in Gloucester already had plenty of character, with exposed brickwork, beams and patterned tiles. She wanted to keep that charm, but brighten the room and make the space feel neater and lighter. Joe’s Doors suggested a simple worktop upgrade to lift the whole kitchen without changing the existing cabinets or layout.

What We Changed

We replaced the original pale laminate surfaces with new White Sparkle quartz overlay worktops, fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The subtle sparkle in the white surface reflects the under-cabinet lighting and complements the cream doors, while providing a calm contrast to the multicoloured tiled splashback. All edges and cut-outs were templated and finished to suit the existing sink, hob and brick feature wall, so everything ties together as a single, tidy scheme.

The kitchen now feels noticeably brighter and more open, with the new White Sparkle surfaces giving a clean, modern finish that still suits the rustic beams and brickwork. The lighter worktops help the patterned tiles and display cabinets stand out, while the simple, seamless surfaces make the room appear tidier and more spacious. Anna keeps the character she loved, with a fresher, more polished space that works just as well for everyday cooking as it does for entertaining.
