Rosie’s kitchen in Bournemouth already had a generous footprint and a lovely outlook, but the warm wood units and dark worktops made the room feel heavier than she wanted. Joe’s Doors refreshed the space with softer tones and light-reflecting surfaces to create a calmer, brighter family kitchen. Without altering the layout, the room now feels more open, modern and connected to the rest of the home.
The original wood-effect doors were replaced with classic Hereford doors in Cashmere Matt, giving the kitchen a softer, more contemporary feel while keeping a timeless, framed look. These new doors were fitted across the full run of cabinets and the large central island, bringing consistency and a gentle warmth to the whole space.
To lift the room further, we added Carrara Gold quartz overlays throughout, including on the long island and the worktops beneath the wide window. The overlays were fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The subtle marble-style veining introduces interest without overpowering the neutral cabinetry, and helps bounce light through the kitchen and into the adjoining archway area.
