Project Overview

Wendy’s Tunbridge Wells kitchen has been refreshed from a darker timber scheme to a softer, lighter space that feels calm and contemporary. By updating the doors and worktops only, we retained the existing layout while giving the room a completely new character. The new finishes brighten the whole area, especially around the window and cooking zone.

What We Changed

The original warm wood cabinet fronts were replaced with new Taunton doors in Light Grey Matt, bringing a clean, modern shaker look that still feels homely. To complement the doors and add more light bounce, we installed White Sparkle quartz overlays to the worktops and a matching splashback behind the hob and along the sink run, fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The result is a coordinated, low-maintenance scheme that works well with Wendy’s existing floor tiles and appliances.

The Result

With the darker timber and worktops gone, the kitchen now feels noticeably brighter and more open, particularly around the sink and window. The Light Grey Matt Taunton doors introduce a subtle frame detail without overpowering the room, while the White Sparkle surfaces and splashbacks add a gentle shimmer under the lighting. Overall, Wendy now has a practical, modern kitchen that feels refreshed without the cost or disruption of a full refit.
