Project Overview

Mr & Mrs Thisby wanted to soften and brighten their existing kitchen without changing the cabinetry they were happy with. By updating the work surfaces to Champagne Glitter quartz, we were able to modernise the room, add subtle sparkle and create a calmer, more cohesive space. The new finish ties in neatly with the white units and flooring for a lighter, more open feel.

What We Changed

We replaced the original dark wood-effect laminate worktops with Champagne Glitter quartz overlays, fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The new surface now runs around the full U-shaped kitchen, including the corner areas, breakfast table and sections around the gas hob and sink. Matching full-height splashbacks and high upstands were added to protect the walls and give a continuous, seamless look behind the hob and beneath the window. Electrical sockets were refitted neatly into the new quartz, ensuring a tidy, integrated finish.

The Result

The kitchen now feels brighter and more refined, with the Champagne Glitter quartz adding warmth and a gentle shimmer without overpowering the room. The continuous surfaces and matching splashbacks reduce visual clutter, making the space appear larger and more streamlined, while still working perfectly with the existing white cabinetry and flooring. Mr & Mrs Thisby have gained a modern, hard-wearing and low-maintenance finish that updates the whole room without the cost and disruption of a full refit.
