Project Overview

Nkasi’s kitchen in Croydon already had a strong layout, but the dark wooden worktops made the space feel busy and hard to maintain. By updating only the surfaces, Joe’s Doors was able to give the room a brighter, more contemporary look. The new finish helps the kitchen flow more naturally into the adjoining living area while remaining practical for everyday family use.

What We Changed

We replaced the existing wooden worktops with sleek White Sparkle quartz overlays, fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The new surface runs seamlessly around the L-shaped peninsula and cooking area, creating generous, uninterrupted preparation space. Around the sink and hob, the durable quartz provides a clean, low-maintenance finish that complements the existing cabinetry and splashback tiles.

The Result

The White Sparkle worktops immediately lift the whole kitchen, reflecting more light and making the room feel larger and more open. The subtle sparkle effect adds interest without overpowering the rest of the design, and the crisp edge details give a well-finished, modern feel. Nkasi now has a brighter, more welcoming kitchen that performs well for cooking, entertaining and day-to-day family life, all achieved without a full refit.
