Project Overview

Claire’s kitchen in West Sussex has been updated from warm wood tones to a more contemporary monochrome look that still feels homely. By refreshing both the doors and worktops, the room now makes better use of the existing layout while feeling brighter, sleeker and more up to date.

What We Changed

The original wood-effect cabinetry and dark laminate worktops were replaced with new Jones doors in Matt Graphite, giving the kitchen a clean, modern profile with simple, straight lines. To contrast with the deeper door colour and lift the whole space, we installed White Sparkle quartz overlays across the worktops and the matching sink area by the window. These were fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install.

The Result

The combination of Matt Graphite cabinetry and White Sparkle worktops creates a balanced contrast that makes the kitchen feel both modern and inviting. The light-reflective quartz helps to bounce light around the room, working well with the existing white tiles and floor to keep the space bright. Claire has retained the practical layout she was used to, but with a noticeably smarter, more coherent finish across the main kitchen and through to the utility area.
