Project Overview

Beth liked the character of her kitchen but felt the dark timber worktops were making the space feel heavy. She wanted a lighter, brighter look that would work with her existing cabinets and farmhouse sink. By updating the surfaces only, we were able to refresh the whole room with minimal disruption.

What We Changed

We replaced the original dark wooden worktops with new White Glitter quartz overlays, fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The white, subtly speckled surface immediately lifts the space, especially around the ceramic sink and brass tap, where we added matching quartz drainer grooves for a neat, practical finish. Keeping Beth’s open wooden shelving and shaker-style cabinets in place, the new worktops tie everything together and introduce a lighter, modern cottage feel.
