Project Overview

Val wanted to refresh her modern kitchen without changing the cabinetry she already liked. By updating the worktops only, Joe’s Doors introduced a lighter, softer look that works seamlessly with her existing taupe units and wood-effect flooring. The new surfaces make the whole space feel brighter and more open, especially around the island and main preparation areas.

What We Changed

Joe’s Doors replaced the original dark brown gloss worktops with new Calacatta Retro quartz overlays to the island and all perimeter runs. The creamy white surface with gentle grey veining lifts the room, reflecting the under-cabinet lighting and giving a softer transition between the pale cabinets and flooring. The overlays were fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install.
