Project Overview

Nicola wanted to refresh her well-used kitchen without changing the layout that already worked for her. By updating the doors and worktops, we were able to create a lighter, calmer space that feels more contemporary while still sitting comfortably within the character of her home.

What We Changed

The original cream shaker doors and dark wood-effect worktops made the room feel busy and a little dated, particularly around the sink and hob runs. We replaced them with sleek Jones doors in Cashmere Matt, giving the cabinetry a softer, streamlined look that works well with Nicola’s mint-green walls.

To transform the work surfaces, we installed Carrara Gold quartz overlays, fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The pale marble-effect surface now runs seamlessly across the main preparation areas and island, with a matching splashback by the window to simplify and brighten what was previously a darker, tiled section.

The Result

The new Cashmere Matt cabinetry and Carrara Gold worktops have significantly brightened the kitchen, especially around the sink run beneath the wide window. Light now reflects off the pale quartz and simple splashbacks, giving the room a more open feel without altering the layout. The subtle veining in the worktops adds interest without overpowering the space, creating a clean, relaxed and more refined everyday kitchen for Nicola.
