Northampton Kitchen Transformation

Project Overview

Trevor wanted his modern kitchen in Northampton to feel brighter and more refined without changing the layout or cabinetry. By upgrading the worktops to a marble-effect quartz, we were able to refresh the whole space and make the island a focal point, all with minimal disruption.

What We Changed

The original warm wood-effect laminate worktops were replaced with Calacatta Retro quartz overlays throughout the kitchen, including the large central island. The new surfaces were fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install.

The bold veining of Calacatta Retro now runs across the island and perimeter runs, tying the different zones of the kitchen together and complementing the existing cream and white cabinetry. Corners and curves were carefully templated so the quartz follows the original shapes, creating a clean, continuous finish around the sink, hob and preparation areas.

The kitchen now feels lighter and more contemporary, with the Calacatta Retro surfaces reflecting natural light and giving the room a calm, open feel. The island has become a practical and visual centrepiece, offering generous preparation and seating space with a more premium look. By retaining the existing cabinets, Trevor achieved a high-end, marble-style finish while keeping the work focused and cost-effective.
