Project Overview

Ian’s West Sussex kitchen already had a practical layout and modern appliances, but the original wood doors were starting to feel dated. By updating only the cabinetry fronts, Joe’s Doors introduced a richer, more contemporary look while keeping the existing units in place. The deep blue finish now anchors the space and complements the pale worktops and flooring for a calm, modern feel.

What We Changed

We replaced the original light wood cabinet doors with new Ruskin doors in Superior Matt Marine Blue. The classic framed design of the Ruskin style brings subtle detailing, while the super-matt finish softens the strong colour for a refined look. Tall larder doors, base units and wall units were all updated to match, with sleek bar handles adding a clean, modern edge and tying in neatly with the stainless steel appliances.

The Result

The new Marine Blue Super-matt doors instantly give the kitchen a more tailored, high-end appearance, without altering the layout that already worked well. The tall bank of cabinetry around the fridge and microwave now acts as a strong feature wall, while the blue doors contrast gently with the pale worktops and glass splashback. The overall effect is a sophisticated, quietly luxurious space that still feels bright and welcoming for everyday use.
