Project Overview

Linda wanted her Surrey kitchen to feel lighter and more contemporary without replacing her existing cabinetry. The layout still worked well and the handleless units were in great condition, but the old worktops no longer matched the modern look she wanted. By updating the island and surrounding work surfaces with Vitton quartz overlays, we refreshed the entire room with a clean, marble-effect finish. The result is a calm, cohesive kitchen that feels brighter and more luxurious without the upheaval of a full refit.

What We Changed

• Cabinet Doors
  Linda’s sleek, handleless cabinetry was retained, allowing us to focus investment where it would make the biggest visual impact. The soft grey finish now pairs beautifully with the bright new quartz, giving the whole kitchen a high-end feel.

• Worktops
  Joe’s Doors supplied and installed new Vitton quartz overlays to the island and all surrounding worktops. The overlays were templated and fitted directly over the existing worktops, so there was no need for messy rip-outs or extended downtime. The large island was finished with a substantial waterfall edge, carefully book-matched so the soft grey veining flows naturally down the sides. We also re-cut the surface to integrate the hob and downdraft extractor neatly into the new top, preserving clean sightlines through the kitchen.

• Finishing Touches
  Edges and joints were finished with precision for a seamless appearance across the long runs and island. A discreet socket plate was positioned on the island end for practical power access without interrupting the marble-effect pattern. The overall effect is a refined, modern kitchen that still feels warm and welcoming.

The Vitton quartz overlays have transformed Linda’s kitchen into a bright, contemporary cooking and entertaining area.
