Huddersfield Kitchen Transformation

Project Overview

David’s Huddersfield kitchen felt dark and enclosed, with heavy wood units and black worktops soaking up the light. Joe’s Doors updated the space with new doors and quartz overlays to create a brighter, calmer room that still works with the existing tiles and flooring. The result is a more inviting kitchen that feels refreshed without the upheaval of a full refit.

What We Changed

The original dark, arched wood cabinet doors were replaced with Cologne-style doors in Linen Matt, bringing in a softer, more contemporary look while keeping the layout exactly as it was. Around the room, new Carrara Marble quartz overlays were fitted directly over existing worktops — no messy rip‑outs — for less disruption and a quicker install. The pale marble-effect surface runs continuously along the cooker wall, sink area and breakfast bar, helping to reflect more light into the room and sit comfortably alongside the original tiled splashbacks and terracotta floor.

The Result

The once dark corner by the cooker is now a lighter, more practical cooking zone, with clean-lined doors and bright worktops framing the hob and ovens. Along the long run of units, the Linen Matt fronts and softly lit glass cabinets give the kitchen a more open feel, while the sink run by the window looks noticeably fresher with the marble-effect surface carrying right up to the edge. Overall, the kitchen feels updated and easier to use, while still recognisably the same room that works well for David day to day.
